Net Pay for REALTORSŪ Rises

NAR statistics highlight a recent trend in REALTORŪ compensation

by Bradley Jones

NAR has released statistics that characterize certain trends in the current REALTOR® industry nationwide. According to the statistics, 68% of REALTORS® were licensed sales agents, and 20% held brokers licenses. The typical REALTOR® has 8 years of experience, which is down from 10 years. This highlights a trend of a younger generation not only getting a real estate license but, more importantly, electing to take part in the REALTOR® family by joining NAR, in addition the respective state and local trade association.

Most encouragingly, according to RISMedia's analysis of the NAR data, REALTORS® are taking home more pay, a sign of a growing economy and strengthening housing market. This trend is especially highlighted by the fact that 80% of respondents to NAR's random sampling reported that they plan to remain active as a real estate professional for two or more years.
