Committee Descriptions

To review applications for the Annual Awards candidates. This committee is responsible for planning and organizing the Annual Awards & Circle of Excellence Banquet.


Circle of Excellence

There will be a standing Circle of Excellence Committee of at least 12 members. Members must be current members of the Circle of Excellence with the majority being Life status. The members shall be appointed, as required by the President, subject to approval by the Board of Directors. The committee shall annually select its own Chairman and Vice Chairman (or, alternatively, the President shall annually designate the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the committee).


Community Relations

Responsible for community leadership in helping various charities and other organizations in raising and collecting funds for their causes as well as public awareness.


Constitution & Bylaws

To review Association Constitution & Bylaws, GIMLS Bylaws, GIMLS Rules and Regulations, and to recommend changes or apply changes requested or recommended by the membership and NAR.



Responsible for scheduling and facilitating seminars and classes, working in conjunction with Association staff liaison, and within the guidelines and budget approved by the Board of Directors.



Plans GARPAC fundraisers and organizes the collection of GARPAC donations.


Governmental Affairs

Monitors implementation of the Affirmative Marketing Agreement and encourage member awareness of Fair Housing Laws. Monitors litigation that adversely affects the industry and reviews legal documents for recommendation of the Board of Directors. Keep up to date on local, state, and national legislative action concerning REALTORS® and property owners and informs the members of changes to the laws.



Promotes energy efficiency and engages and instructs members on the benefits of energy efficiency for buyers and sellers.


Member Services

To enhance the relationship among the Association, its members and Affiliates, and the business community as a whole. Encourages member involvement and promotes the value of being a REALTOR® while illuminating the benefits of joining a REALTOR® Association. Coordinates quarterly orientations for new members and Affiliates.



Selects a slate of officers and directors in June each year for the coming year. The immediate past president shall serve as chairperson but have no vote other than to break a tie. Should the immediate past president be unavailable, the chairperson will be appointed by the president. Nominating committee members shall meet the following criteria: a) An Association member for a minimum of two (2) years, and b) a current or past officer or director, past service as a chairperson, or past member of at least two committees of the Association. No member of the nominating committee may be nominated for any office of the Board by the nominating committee.



Plans and organizes programs for the regular monthly meetings and organizes




Responsible for research and making recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning computer upgrades, software, and technology trends. Is also responsible for helping membership with new technology and updates.


Young Professionals Network

Gives young real estate professionals the tools and encouragement to become involved in four core areas: Participating in REALTOR® conferences and associations; Keeping informed on the latest industry news and trends; Networking with and learning from one another by attending events; and Becoming exceptional members of their community by demonstrating a high level of REALTOR® professionalism and volunteering for causes they feel passionate about.
